Molded Precision Components is Go for Launch!
Oro-based Molded Precision Components filled Barrie’s Five Points Theatre to capacity on Saturday Evening, to celebrate their journey so far and to officially launch their new corporate identity. Attended by an impressive list of distinguished guests that included Local MPP Andria Khanjin, Simcoe County Warden George Cornell, Mayor Jeff Lehman and Mayor Harry Hughes(Barrie and Oro respectively), the local advanced manufacturing plastic components producer put on an impressive show of capability and culture.
Since taking ownership of what was a dormant business in 2006 with his childhood friend and co-owner Tom Woegerer, President David Yeaman proudly shared with the extended family of MPC team members, key suppliers and customers the story of how MPC (originally known as Molded Plastic Consultants) has grown. To this day, although already expanded to a second co-located building and strategizing the next steps toward an expanded custom-built facility, Molded Precision Components maintains its original location on Oro line 4 South, originally started in 1982.
“We are literally busting at the seams, our team having grown more in recent months in preparation for our next big push on the growth of the business. Let’s be truthful, this is a great problem to have and there are many similar and larger business’ that have come and gone in the same time period. Who would have thought thirteen years ago that we would have exceeded $10M in annual sales, employ 58 talented and highly capable people and have the opportunity to blow our growth out of the water” Commented Dave Yeaman.
The MC of the event and newly appointed Director of Strategic Business Development Andrew Bird, is testament to this direction, joining the Management team with the mandate of focused sales growth and diversification, strategic planning and assessment of advanced technology implementation.
“This was a really great event and was so effective at contrasting the history of MPC with the newly developed corporate identity and direction. Our new corporate videos, showcase the depth of advanced engineering and stand-out corporate culture that will be a cornerstone of our activities moving forward. We will also be working with the team at Made In.Simcoe, to leverage all the great work that has been done to really spread the word about the hidden jewel of Oro-Medonte that is Molded Precision Components.” said Bird.
MPC boasts beyond World-Class quality production stats with a defective parts rating of less than one part per million delivered; all the more impressive when you produce over 70 million parts annually. Yeaman explained that this cannot be achieved solely by adding people, no matter how good they are. The sector-leading implementation of technologies at their facilities and on their equipment not only set them apart, but positions them as trailblazers of Industry 4.0. Always with a keen eye on the future, the team knows that it is increasingly important for the business to have a clear direction and to communicate that effectively to their team members, suppliers and customers. Also important is the need to draw breath and celebrate what has been achieved and the people that contribute to MPC’s success on a daily basis.
To that end, four MPC team members were recognized at Saturday’s event, awards being presented to Paul Kanczula, Justin Johnson and Adam Robbins for demonstration of the MPC cultural values of Integrity, Collaboration and Innovation respectively. The inaugural ‘Culture’ award was also presented to Justin Morton, in recognition of his ‘across the board’ contribution in these categories.
“Our business is nothing without its people”, said Dave Yeaman, he continues, without our team “We are just a couple of buildings of high value equipment, robots and software… a Lamborghini without a driver. Our team is nothing short of incredible and both Tom and I are so thankful for all of their efforts in building the success of MPC. We have been and continue to be truly blessed!” Further information about Molded Precision Components or to explore your precision plastic molding needs more information can be found at www.MPCcomponents.com or by contacting MPC at (705) 487 0294 and asking for David Yeaman (X223) or Andrew Bird (X225).
